How linens are woven in Italy
We are pleased to present this slideshow of fine linens being woven in a small factory outside of Florence, Italy, in 2010. The weaving techniques and expertise required are much the same as they were centuries ago, and continue to be ‘handed down’ from one generation to the next. It takes eight hours a day working 40 hours a week for one artisan to complete one embroidered sheet set.
If you are lucky enough to own a fine embroidered sheet set from Italy, you indeed own a treasure. These wonderful, exquisitely made products will become more rare - and valuable - in time as workers continue to migrate away from their villages for other opportunities. Available at Bella Linea, as long as they keep being manufactured! Call 615-352-4041 for more information, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Enjoy the show!
